**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**
April 29th, 2026, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Bayshore Finance T&T Limited is proud to announce their donation of $2,500 to MOMS for Literacy, sponsoring one child for an entire year of literacy support and educational development. The contribution forms part of Bayshore’s growing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, with a continued focus on investing in children, education, and brighter futures.
This latest initiative builds on Bayshore’s previous donation to the St. James Police Youth Club’s “No Child Left Behind” School and Uniform Drive, where the company supported a secondary school student with educational expenses. Together, these efforts reflect the company’s long-term commitment to empowering young people through access to learning opportunities and practical support.
Founded in 1992, MOMS for Literacy is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated
to helping children learn to read, write, comprehend, and think confidently so they can make a positive contribution to society. Through customised literacy programmes in a nurturing environment, the organisation also empowers parents to actively support their children’s education. Their mission is captured in the phrase: “Teaching children to Read with Pleasure, not Pressure.”
Over the years, MOMS for Literacy has made a national impact through remedial reading programmes, tutor training, parent workshops, student assessments, counselling support, and partnerships with schools and communities across Trinidad and Tobago. The organisation was awarded the Medal of Merit (Gold) for Public Service in Education in 2005 in recognition of its outstanding contribution to national development.
Speaking on the donation, Director &CEO of Bayshore Finance, Sheldon Chin said:
“We believe education is one of the most powerful investments we can make in our nation’s future. Supporting organisations like MOMS for Literacy allows us to play a small but meaningful role in helping children unlock their potential through reading and learning. Our commitment to youth development is real, growing, and long-term.”
Research consistently shows that literacy is closely linked to better life outcomes, stronger communities, and reduced social risk factors. By sponsoring a child for one year, Bayshore Finance hopes to make a direct and lasting difference in a young person’s educational journey while supporting the wider mission of literacy advancement in Trinidad and Tobago.
